Welcome to Old For MacArthur Days 2013

Welcome to the 2013 OFMD participant information and registration page. On behalf of the board of directors of the Fort MacArthur Museum Association, I want to take a moment and say "thank you" for taking time out of your schedule to support the event and the Fort MacArthur Museum. - Joe Janesic

Registration:
This year we are continuing the on-line registration process as a way to reduce the amount of paperwork and make the show easier to manage.
The leader of each participating group is required to register the number of members they think will attend the event.

Why the $10 registration fee is important to us:
Old Fort MacArthur Days is the principal fundraiser for the Fort MacArthur Museum Association. The income earned from this event helps to cover the expense of maintaining a number of programs here at the Fort MacArthur Museum. These programs include, the restoration of the historic structures, acquisition of artifacts, site interpretation, and the general expenses of keeping the museum open to the public.

The generally accepted policy for income / expense ratio with an event of this type is 1:3 in other words, for every dollar we spend to host the event, we need to have three dollars returned for it to be considered successful. The $10 per person participant fee helps us get closer to that goal by helping to offset expenses such as: Insurance, portable toilets, trash collection, and the city required permits including police and fire department support.

In past years; the City of Los Angeles, Department of Recreation and Parks has been able to partially offset the costs associated with the portable toilets and permits. However, the current state of Los Angeles City Budget has left the department in a position where they may not be able to provide us this support.

Your ten dollar contribution helps us keep the event going; the success of this event is a direct result of your generosity and great performances during the event. …Thanks for your support.

Parking:
Over the years this event has continued to grow and with the construction of the new High School project, the amount of parking available to us continues
to be less then it has been in years past. This is likely going to continue to be a problem for another few months before the school is finished and we can use the planned parking lots. We will be publishing more information about the parking situation as we get closer to the show, so please this page from time to time.
